Bright Pink’s First Chapter: Education & Support Programs for Young Women

Bright Pink was founded in 2007 based on the question, “Why do we have to wait until someone is diagnosed to take action?”

From 2007 to 2021, Bright Pink worked tirelessly to help save lives from breast and ovarian cancer by empowering women to know their risk and manage their health proactively.

In its first 15 years, Bright Pink…

  • Shifted the national conversation to focus on breast and ovarian cancer prevention, shined a light on genetic testing and risk management, and empowered countless women to make lifesaving health decisions.

  • Trained more than 20,000 women’s health providers to enable them to better identify and manage breast and ovarian cancer risk for the estimated 72M+ female patients they care for annually.

  • Helped nearly 1.8 million women understand their breast/ovarian cancer risk and develop a personalized prevention plan.

  • Supported more than 6,500 high risk women through one of a kind support programs.

  • Educated more than 110,000 women on breast/ovarian health basics through in-person educational workshops, with more than half of those being collegiate women.

  • Create a vibrant brand and garnered hundreds of millions of impressions nationwide.

We reached women where they were

Through digital content marketing, strategic media placements, influencer engagement, and partnerships with reputable brands, we have reached women with our trusted educational tools and content where they are, when they need it most.

In 2021, we proudly announced that the world-renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute acquired Bright Pink’s suite of programs including AssessYourRisk.org and Bright Pink transitioned into a nonprofit Venture Philanthropy Fund.
